Sunday ....Always a fun day !!!
Sundays were always fun days for me and my sister . The day come with great expectations and excitement . for it is the day when acha go to the market to buy vegetables for the week , and with them come some surprises ( we already knew there would be some in store for us :-)
We eagerly wait for acha to come from the Palayam market , in between the vegetables ,he would carefully hide "the chodakku "for us . I don`t know exactly what it is called in English . I even don`t know whether it is still there in this country for we no more see it these days :-(
But those who have seen the bunch of 'chodakku " and experienced the blowing of it and bursting them on forehead ,arms on each others cheeks .......would certainly understand what I mean . It was so fun and it made us so happy :-))

Another added attraction to the Sunday was ,after the breakfast , the much awaited time of the day !!! Acha used to climb on the guava tree and get us big ripe guava fruits .......another treat for us ( yes , the tree was so strong and its branches spread all over the roof ,as if it wanted us to enjoy it )
Afternoon lunch would always had been sumptuous...... Amma would cook fish...... naimeen or konju (prawn )curry and fry ......hmmm mouth watering isn't it ?
Some surprises and extra toppings were a bonus to us ....like taking us for the movie , or to the Shangumugham Beach .............they were all royal treats for two lil minds
And mind it till the day comes to end we two masters were always in the best of our behavior ....waiting eagerly and in the anticipation of more and more fun !!!!
What more could a 8 & 7 year old want for fun and to be happy ?
